Relocating, and living in a foreign country, is something we are used to.
And although we are very familiar with it since a very young age, every time we moved or settled in some place new, we faced new challenges (and we are still facing).

Each move brings with it another set of struggles, related to your current situation, the location you've arrived to, but also to your mindset at this exact time.

Are we doing what it takes to make this life abroad what we want it to be?

What about when no one is watching?
When no one applauds us for our efforts, when no one is here to see the progress we make, when no one cheers us up - do we still make the efforts?

To be fair, it's hard, we know it! And we sometimes fail to do what it takes when no one is watching (perhaps this is why we work so well together😅 as it holds us accountable to each other).

The thing is, no matter what goal we set for ourselves, if we only talk about it out loud and commit to it "externally" but not internally, we are unlikely to achieve it.

As previously stated, when it comes to living abroad, we all deal with a lot at the same time. PLUS, we set some goals that we believe will help us improve our lives abroad, such as learning the language, making new friends, taking better care of ourselves, exploring new places, and finding that perfect coffee place for us.

Each person has their own "to do list" and "desire list", and it's based on the current life situation we are in. But the only way to get results, is to be active about it, and have the right mindset that will help you deal with it all.

We didn't invent this, other amazing people talked about this subject before us. One of them is Dean Graziosi, and we love his approach and how he talks about it, in such a simple way.

So what's the best way to make sure your desired life abroad match your efforts?

✨ Know who you are & your desires.
Ask yourself the "hard" question : "What do I want?"
Be 100% honest with yourself. You've made the decision to move to this new country you're in right now. How do you want this experience abroad to be? For yourself.
Ask yourself "Who am I?" for real, not when you're trying to fit in, or when you want to please others. Who are you when you're truly yourself.
Once you'll have the answers to these questions, you'll be able to know what efforts you need to do, to reach your desires.

✨ Be focused.
When trying to do all at once, we usually end up doing nothing much.
It's very hard to take care of everything simultaneously.
So choose what are you focusing on right now. Start small. And do what it takes when no one is watching.
* One way of deciding what you should focus on is asking yourself: "What is the thing that might have the biggest positive halo effect on the other areas in my life?". Start with this.

✨ Practice positive mindset.
This is really a key to everything you're doing while living abroad, as it is about your attitude when addressing all those challenges you're facing. If you only see the challenges, it can make your day-to-day very hard to live; But if you learn to look at things differently, change your glasses, and approach things as opportunities, your life improve significantly.
So start training your positive mindset (we're here to help with that), and practice it daily.
